ROME: Iga Swiatek reached the Rome Open final and beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-2 6-1, extending her winning streak to 27 games.

In contrast to her Belarusian opponent, the 20-year-old displayed accuracy and diversity by breaking serve six times.

The world number one had defeated Canada's Bianca Andreescu in the semi-final.

Next up for the reigning champion is Ons Jabeur or Daria Kasatkina.

Swiatek has won five straight tournaments following triumphs in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, and Stuttgart.

Jabeur, who will play Russian Kasatkina in the second semi-final, became the first Arab or African player to win a WTA 1000 championship after winning Madrid Open last week.
