KARACHI: Five-time winners Mumbai Indians are going through a disastrous campaign in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) as they have suffered eight straight defeats, with skipper Rohit Sharma's lack of form and captaincy issues also coming under scrutiny — as the well-known commentator Ian Bishop says — Sharma seemed a broken men when he talked to him.

It's not just Sharma's disappointing show with the bat, the other batters also haven't clicked well, while bowling and fielding has also been below, and Bishop while talking to Star Sports, opened-up about the reasons behind MI's torrid show.

"When I spoke to Rohit Sharma after the last game, he seemed a broken man, understandably. It is a franchise with a great pedigree. I think they need some personnel changes." Bishop said.

While, Bishop in about resolving the batting issues said that MI could add a power-hitting batter like — Tim David — who has shown sheer brutal hitting in other leagues.

"I think they need Tim David. I don’t know why he hasn’t featured more often," he believes.

"They need someone in that batting lineup to get them to a more significant score to hold things, and maybe power things up a little bit. Obviously, Suryakumar Yadav has been playing well," he added.

Meanwhile, Bishop also spoke MI's bowling issues as he believes that they have been the biggest reason behind their downfall.

"Their bowling has been leaking runs at critical times in matches, so it's disappointing for them this year. But still they got to see how they can get out of it, and see how they can develop some of those players going forward," he stated.
