Du Plessis, Hazlewood drive RCB to fifth win in IPL 2022

MUMBAI: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)'s skipper Faf Du Plessis scored unbeaten 96 to set the tone for his team to beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and register their fifth victory in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. 

In overall 31st contest of cash-rich Indian franchise league, RCB were sent into bat first. Du Plessis saw his opening partner falling apart earlier but he stood there firmly to score some handy runs for title-less RCB. 

The right-handed batter scored 96 runs off 64 balls including 11 boundaries and two sixes. Glenn Maxwell hit 23 runs including three boundaries and a six. 

For LSG, Dushmantha Chameera and Jason Holder bagged two wickets each. 

In reply, LSG looked out touch, having lost a couple of wickets earlier. Skipper KL Rahul scored handy 30 but falling wickets pressure kept on building. 

Krunal Pandya fought jard in the end and scored 42 laced with five boundaries and two sixes. 

Hazelwood bagged four wickets while Harshal Patel took two wickets.
