KARACHI: The Pakistan Test cricket team have retained the second place in the International Cricket Council's World Test Championship 2021-23 after a  draw over Australia in the ongoing Pakistan-Australia series.

After securing their second consecutive draw against Australia at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan Test team, Wednesday retained the second spot on the World Test Championship table.

Babar played a captain's knock for the Green Shirts' second innings, scoring 196 runs in 426 balls to help his team secure a draw.

Meanwhile, wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and opener Abdullah Shafique also scored 104 and 96 runs, respectively, to help hosts draw the match.

The final Test of the historic series will be played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium from 21-25 March.
