Pakistan batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has stressed that the national team batters are trying to show intent and play a modern brand of cricket.
While talking during the innings break of the ongoing fifth T20I against New Zealand at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, the legendary batter that they looking to put combined effort to bat with a higher strike rate.
"We plan to have intent which results in a high strike rate. Our Head Coach Azhar Mahmood has explained how we should play in our team meetings. The method is simple and easy which is why we are making 170-180 in each match," he said.
"Unfortunately, we lost the last match by 4 runs but even after losing 3 early wickets, we got close. The intent we're showing is a combined effort and we're trying to play a modern brand of cricket," he added.
It must be noted Pakistan have posted 178/5 in the final T20I of the series against New Zealand.
The Men in Green will have to defend 179-run target in order to level the series. If New Zealand chase this down, they will win the five-match series 3-1.
At the time of writing this story, New Zealand are 121/5 after 14 overs.
