Real Madrid have finalised terms with Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe and according to reports from multiple outlets, the deal is all but announced. When will Los Blancos officially confirm the signing?
As per an earlier report from SPORT, Mbappe was thinking of announcing his transfer to the Spanish capital on June 30 as PSG were on the brink of elimination from the Champions League after losing the first leg against Barcelona.
However, they made a comeback in the second leg and steered to the semi-final of the tournament where they will take on Borussia Dortmund. On the other hand, Real Madrid also made their way to the last four of UCL after beating Manchester City on penalties.
Should PSG and Madrid beat their opponents, the two would meet in the Champions League final, the possibility has now halted Mbappe’s plans of announcing his transfer.
As per the latest developments, AS reported that both the parties, Mbappe and Madrid, are now considering announcing the transfer either on July 14, once Euro 2024 ends, or just before the commencement of the tournament.
Regardless of the timing of announcing the transfer, Mbappe’s move to the 14-time Champions League winners is just a matter of time as all the details between the two parties have been finalised and only an official announcement is pending.
It must be noted that Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe since his AS Monaco days in 2017-18 but the player decided to join PSG on a €180 million deal.
The deal was likely to happen last summer after the 25-year-old sent a letter to the French club saying that he would not extend his contract till 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that Real Madrid is not concerned that the arrival of Mbappe will affect the Spanish club’s dressing room.
According to Spanish news outlet Relevo, no one at Real Madrid is of the opinion that Mbappe will ruin the dressing room’s atmosphere.
The report added that the situation is the complete opposite in the dressing room as they are counting the days to welcome the French star at the club.
