Sana Mir is a former Pakistani cricketer and captain of the team.

Sana Mir was made captain of the team ahead of the 2009 T20 World Cup and remained captain until she stepped down from the role in 2017.

During her tenure as captain, Sana Mir led the side in 137 matches and became the first Pakistani women cricketer to take 100 ODI wickets.

In her captaincy, Sana Mir has also led Pakistan to two gold medals in the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014.

In 2018, due to her stellar bowling performance, Mir became the number one ODI bowler in the ICC rankings making her the first Pakistani women bowler to rank at number 1.

In 2019, Sana Mir became the first Pakistani women cricketer to play 100 Women’s T20Is.

Sana Mir announced that she would take a break in 2019 and in 2020, she announced her retirement from cricket.
