Eoin Morgan, a former English player and captain, used to play cricket for Ireland but he always had an aim to play Test cricket and Ireland became a Test nation years later when they played against Pakistan in 2018.

Morgan had played cricket in England for four years and that made him eligible to play for England so he fulfilled his desire of wearing whites and playing Test cricket. 

The desire dwindled as he made England the most feared ODI team in the world and the white-ball formats became his sole focus.

Eoin Morgan became captain of England just two months before the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He went in untrained and came out with knowledge and experience that led England to become the No.1 ODI team in the world and they went in the 2019 Cricket World Cup as favourites. England lifted that World Cup trophy, their first World Cup title, due to the no-fear message Morgan had engrained within the team. 

In 2021, just a year before he bid farewell to cricket, Morgan became the first English player to play 100 Tests for England of which 57 were as captain.
