Pakistan was handed a 3-0 defeat on Tuesday by world number 10 Iran in the Asian Volleyball Championship.
Pakistan’s defeat came after two straight wins against Thailand and Hong Kong in the tournament held in Japan.
In spite of today’s defeat, Pakistan qualified for the eighth round of the championship owing to the two initial victories.
After qualifying for the eighth round, Pakistan, and all other teams that have qualified will be separated into two groups, for the classification round.
On Sunday, Pakistan went off the a flying start in Asian Volleyball championship with a 3-2 win over a better ranked Thailand on opening day of the tournament that kicked off in Japan.
It was a collective team effort by team Pakistan that helped them making several comebacks and eventually win the game against Thailand.
Pakistan lost the first set 22-25 despite leading 10-7 at once. They were also down 10-3 in second set but made a remarkable comeback to equalise the match 1-1 by winning second set 25-23.
