Shoaib Akhtar says he is joining KPL as a 'peace ambassador'

Former Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar has said that he will be joining Kashmir Premier League (KPL) as an ambassador of peace after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) threatened foreign players from participating in the league.

Taking to Twitter, Akhtar said, “Why such a fuss between @kpl_20 & BCCI. It’s about building bridges and promoting peace.”

“Really appreciate all of you for the trend #ShoaibAkhtarPeaceAmbassador. So I'll be joining as Peace Ambassador for KPL”, the former cricketer tweeted after the hashtag became a top Twitter trend.

He also shared a video message on social media about the issue.

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had expressed its displeasure over reports that BCCI has called multiple ICC members and forced them to withdraw their retired cricketers from KPL.
