Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is all set to join Nepal’s domestic T20 tournament, Everest Premier League.

He will be reunited with the country’s cricket champ Sandeep Lamichhane, whom he played alongside as part of ICC World XI team that faced world champions West Indies at Lord’s for a hurricane relief exhibition match.

The two have also played against each other in the Pakistan Premier League as well as the Afghanistan Premier League.

In a video message released at the launch of the team’s campaign, Lamichhane welcomed Afridi, and said: "Welcome on board with Kathmandu Kings XI. All the boys are really excited to see you here on the field.”

“And I personally know you are going to have a great time during your visit to Nepal. Can't wait to see you joining the team,” he said.

Afridi spoke about his visit at presser, saying: "This will be my first visit to Kathmandu. I am very excited and looking forward to visiting."
