Legendary mountain climber Ali Sadpara's dead body has been found over K2's Camp 4,

The mountaineer's son Sajid Sadpara, along with Canadian filmmaker Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa, were on a trek to find the bodies of his father, John Snorri, and Juan Mohr.

The team reached Camp 4 this morning and flew a drone around the area in search of the bodies, sources said.

Through the drone, the team was able to detect a body above Camp 4 near the bottleneck.

Sadpara, Snorri and Mohr had departed for their journey on February 3 this year, after Sadpara's birthday.

They had started their attempt for the final summit in the early hours of February 5, hoping to accomplish the herculean feat by afternoon.

According to updates posted on Snorri's Facebook the GPS stopped working and subsequently a search and rescue operation was launched after contact could not be recovered.

The group was officially presumed dead at K2 bottleneck on 18 February 2021.
