Sania Mirza on becoming the first Indian woman to feature in 4 Olympic Games

Indian tennis champ Sania Mirza has expressed her happiness for getting a chance to play at the Olympics.

During an interview with India Today, the 34-year-old six-time Grand Slam winner said she had dreamt of this opportunity since the start of her career.

"Playing at the Olympics is something that any athlete only dreams of. To be able to play four of them is something that I could have only dreamt of at the beginning of my career. So it is a matter of great pride," she said ahead of her Olympics appearance.

“If somebody had told me at the last Olympics that I’ll have another shot at it, I would have laughed it off,” she added.

Mirza will become the first Indian woman to feature in four Olympic Games when she participates in the women’s event in Tokyo.
