Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at Pakistan team for choosing to bowl first after winning the toss at the second T20I at Headingley, Leeds on Sunday.
Turning to Twitter, Akhtar was infuriated at the poor decision made by captain Babar Azam, which he thought cost them the match against England.
“Such a poor decision by captain & the management by bowling 1st on a great batting pitch it’s beyond me just speechless,” he wrote.
In the video posted on Twitter, Akhtar said: “Everyone knows that the wicket is flat, I don’t know why you would bowl first on this track.”
“If I was the PCB chairman, I would have sacked the management and the captain at the same time by taking a poor decision of bowling first,” he added.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan echoed the same as he tweeted: “Lovely afternoon at Headingley .. England too strong but no idea why Pakistan bowled first .. Anyway it sets up the last game.”
