Peshawar Zalmi’s experienced South African batsman David Miller is happy with the way he contributed to his team’s convincing win against Quetta Gladiators in the HBL PSL-6 Abu Dhabi leg game at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Saturday night.
Miller hammered 46-ball 73 with four sixes and six fours and shared a 125 for the third wicket with Kamran Akmal (59) to take Zalmi to 197-5.
Quetta were then restricted to 136-9 as Zalmi won the game by 61 runs, their fourth win from seven outings. Discarded left-arm international pacer Mohammad Irfan got three wickets while skipper Wahab Riaz and Umaid Asif finished with two each.
“It was really enjoyable to play a knock like that. I was going to play three games for the team and it was nice to contribute,” Miller said.
“I was able to hit a few sixes and fours. After the start I had I wanted to make amends and get it right. Kamran batted beautifully. When he was not going I was going and vice versa. It was a very nice partnership,” Miller said.
