Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam was ecstatic following his side’s second successive series victory during the South Africa tour in Centurion on Friday.

“History made, Alhumdulillah!” Babar wrote on Twitter after Pakistan defeated South Africa in the final T20I to clinch the four-match series 3-1.

“Magic happens when you refuse to give up,” he added.

The 26-year-old was awarded Man of the Series for being the highest run-scorer in the four matches with 210 runs to his credit.

“It was all about giving 100 percent, enjoying my cricket, and do what the team needs," Babar said in the post-match presentation, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“When we left, we left with the idea that we had to win this series and give 110%, and that's what we did.”

The Pakistani skipper was all praises for his teammates after team’s success in both formats of white-ball cricket. “Well played Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf and everyone involved. Proud of you champions!” he added.

“Fakhar performed brilliantly in the ODIs, the bowlers were outstanding overall. When the players perform like that, the results will follow.”

Babar also thanked the Cricket South Africa for hosting the team in these challenging times. “"I want to thank the South African board for the facilities they've provided, on and off the field. We've really enjoyed this tour, despite the quarantine and everything.”
