Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah-led Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Sunday announced to resume the ongoing National Women Football Championship in Karachi.

The PFF Normalisation Committee had cancelled the event after the Ashfaq Shah group took over control of the PFF office in Lahore on Saturday. A late night message from the PFF NC informed the media about the cancellation of the event following the incident.

However, the Ashfaq Shah group has now decided to continue the championship. A notification with PFF letterhead was sent to all participating teams saying the event will be completed as per schedule.

In this regard, a 13-member committee has been formed with Syed Khadim Ali Shah as its Chairman and Raheela Zarmeen as the Director Tournament.

Raheela has also worked with the NC as the director of women development. She said her only priority is to continue women's football.

It is pertinent to mention that FIFA and AFC do not recognize Ashfaq Shah as the President of PFF and the matches under his supervision will have no status in FIFA.
