Prize money for women footballers more than cricketers in national championships

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced over PKR 3.2 million as prize money for the ongoing 13th National Women Football Championship which is more than what women cricketers were offered in the National Women’s T20 Championship last year.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced a PKR 1.7 million for the women’s cricket tournament that was held in November.

While the prize money for the title winners was same in both tournaments, the amount varies for runner-ups and other individual categories.

The team which will win the football championship will earn PKR 1 million; similar to the reward pocketed by T20 tournament winners PCB Challengers last year. However, the runner-ups in the former event will earn PKR 250, 000 more than what PCB Dynamites, the runner-ups in 2020 cricket championship, earned.

Meanwhile, the third ranked team in the football championship will earn PKR 500,000.

The Player of the Tournament in PCB-held event got PKR 50,000 while the Most Valuable Player in women’s football championship will get PKR 85,000 and top scorer will earn 70,000.

In addition, each of the 11 individual categories meant the players in the football event have prize money higher than what women cricketers were offered.
