Shahnawaz Dahani, Mohammad Wasim likely to get a call for South Africa, Zimbabwe tour 

Karachi: Emerging players Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Wasim are likely to get a call for national team for the upcoming tour to South Africa and Zimbabwe, Jang reported today.

The national team squad for the three One-Day Internationals and four Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa is expected to be announced soon.

Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim has consulted the national selection committee members regarding the squad selection and it is likely that squads for both South Africa and Zimbabwe tour will be announced together.

The committee highlighted the performance of players in the 14 matches played in the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and will consider them for the T20I series.

Fast bowlers Dahani and Wasim, who represent Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in PSL, took 12 wickets in the four matches they played in this year’s edition of the tournament.

Senior all-rounders Mohammad Hafeez and Imad Wasim are also expected to return to the national team.

Meanwhile , Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan had separate meeting with captain Babar Azam and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq to work out a strategy for the South Africa tour.

In the meeting, Covid-19 SOPs for the tour and bio-secure bubble arrangement for the players were discussed among many other issues.
