Many former and current cricketers expressed their excitement and joy after Prime Minister Imran Khan, former cricket captain, secured a vote of confidence in the National Assembly on Saturday (today).
Pakistan cricket bowling coach Waqar Younis took to popular social media site Twitter to congratulate Khan, his former colleague, on the marvelous victory.
“The Tiger Roars Again. Congratulations Skipper #VoteOfConfidence” he wrote.
The former bowler further appreciated Khan in another tweet saying he loves the “skipper” for his “principals, honesty and never give up attitude.”
Earlier today, the country’s premier bagged 178 votes, six more than required, in a voluntary vote of confidence following a recent upset in Senate polls.
The victory was well received among many current cricketers as well, including Mohammad Hafeez and national women’s team player Javeria Khan.
Javeria wrote lyrics of a popular Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf anthem to share her happiness while Hafeez called the win a “Master stroke.”
