Sarfaraz Ahmed's Quetta Gladiators on Wednesday finally got off the mark in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, beating Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans by 22 runs at the National Stadium Karachi.

Their maiden victory of the tournament was the construct of their opener Usman Khan, who was playing his first match of the tournament but still smashed a 50-ball 81 to help his side to 176-7.

In response, the red-hot Rizwan once again delivered with the bat scoring a 50-ball 66 but did not find much help from the other end as the Sultans folded for 154. Afghan leggie Qais Ahmed was Quetta's star with the ball, taking three wickets for just 21 runs.

The result ended the incredible run of teams batting second winning in PSL 2021. Before tonight, the league had seen 13 successful run chases - all consecutive.

Despite the win, Quetta remain rooted to the bottom of the points table due to their inferior run rate.
