South Africa and Quetta Gladiators pacer Dale Steyn has apologised for comparing the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL), clarifying that he had not meant any harm and that his remarks were reported "out of context".

Steyn, in an interview, had branded IPL a bit too money-centric, adding that PSL and other leagues are where cricket remains the main priority.

The Proteas legend appeared to go back on his words today, explaining in his tweet that he had not meant to insult anyone.

"IPL has been nothing short of amazing in my career, as well as other players too," he tweeted.

"My words were never intended to be degrading, insulting, or comparing of any leagues."

"Social media and words out of context can often do that. My apologies if this has upset anyone. Much love."
