Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Monday thanked his supporters for their well wishes on his 44th birthday but ended up confusing the people on his real date of birth.

Taking to Twitter, the all-rounder said that his family and fans are his biggest assets. “Thank you very much for all the lovely birthday wishes - 44 today! My family and my fans are my biggest assets,” he wrote.

Soon after his tweet, Afridi’s age became the talking point on the bird site.

The all-rounder, who represented Pakistan in 27 Tests, 398 One-Day Internationals and 99 T20Is, has always found his age being a hot topic in the cricketing world since his debut.

While the Boom Boom confirmed that he turned 44 today, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) official record shows it as 41.

Here is how people reacted to Afridi’s tweet.
