Rookies and role players were the main heroes as New York Knicks defeated Sacramento Kings 140-121 at the Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

First-year guard Immanuel Quickley scored 25 points, whereas Alec Burks contributed 24 after coming off the bench as the Knicks piled up their highest points total of the 2020-21 season so far.

New all-star Julius Randle chipped in with 21 points to go with his 14 boards, while former MVP Derrick Rose had 18.

RJ Barrett (12) and Reggie Bullock (10), too, had double digit contributions as the Knicks notched the fifth win in their last seven outings.

"That's the great part about this team,'' Quickley was quoted as saying by the Associated Press. ''Whoever, we roll with them.''

As impressive as the Knicks were impressive, the Kings were depressive. It was Sacramento's ninth-straight defeat and they now find themselves 13th in the Western Conference.
