Karachi: Quetta Gladiators’ fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain on Saturday said that he wants to “bowl as fast as possible” in the ongoing edition of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) and become the best bowler of the tournament.
The 20-year-old, in a post-match interview said that he is trying his best to maintain his fitness level and bowl as fast as possible.
“My goal is to make my team victorious and be the best bowler in the tournament,” Hasnain said. “I want to give my best and along with my fellow fast bowlers – Nasim Shah and Usman Shinwari – do well and make Quetta Gladiators win games in PSL.”
While Quetta lost the tournament opener against defending champions Karachi Kings, Hasnain said that his side will do better in the coming games.
“I am hopeful of continuing my aggressive bowling in the remaining matches of PSL and help Gladiators fight back in the tournament,” the bowler said.
“I was excited for this game but we couldn’t put enough runs on board, although, we tried our best. After small total, I tried to bowl aggressively to get wickets early on,” he added.
Hasnain, who got two wickets against Kings, said that his target was to get openers out as soon as opener. The Hyderabad-born bowler has represented Pakistan in six one-day internationals and 10 T20Is.
He also shared delight over crowd’s presence at the stadium after playing months of cricket behind closed doors and hoped to see more spectators at venues in matches to come.
“There’s some crowd at stadium and that’s very exciting for us. It was good to play in front of people after a long time because without crowd there’s no fun for players. I hope there will be more spectators allowed in matches to come during PSL,” he concluded.
