Officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have warned head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Test captain Azhar Ali to be careful regarding their conduct in future and steer clear of any actions that violation the terms of their contracts, The News reported on Saturday.

The warning comes after the duo, along with veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, bypassed the PCB and met Prime Minister Imran Khan to air their grievances regarding the new domestic cricket structure.

Their attempt to change the prime minister's mind had also gone to waste as the man in the highest office had reportedly told them to "do you job".

The duo were supposed to be grilled by PCB higher-ups Ehsan Mani and Wasim Khan but the start of the National T20 Cup and scheduling conflicts mean that that meeting never materialised.

The warnings have thus been dealt indirectly from other officials of the Board

In their defence, Misbah and Azhar said that they did not violate the code of conduct but PCB officials still directed them to remain careful.
