Alex Scott, Antony sent off in Bournemouth-Real Betis pre-season draw

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and Real Betis winger Antony were both sent off following a confrontation during a pre-season friendly in Seville, as the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The incident occurred shortly before half-time after Betis midfielder Nelson Deossa kicked the ball towards Bournemouth defender Bafode Diakite following a foul.

The action quickly escalated into a confrontation involving players from both teams. Antony, who joined Betis after his spell with Manchester United, and Bournemouth's Scott became involved in a heated exchange and pushed each other.

The referee responded by showing both players straight red cards, leaving the two sides to play the remainder of the match with 10 men.

Bournemouth took the lead in the 41st minute when Marcus Tavernier found the net to give the Premier League side a narrow advantage heading into the interval.

Betis responded strongly after the break and drew level through Cucho Hernandez in the 57th minute.

The Cherries regained the lead when Brazilian forward Evanilson converted to make it 2-1, but Betis refused to give up and eventually found another equaliser.

Pablo Fornals scored late in the match to restore parity and ensure the Spanish side avoided defeat in front of their home supporters.

The draw provided Bournemouth with another competitive test ahead of the new Premier League season.

Andoni Iraola's side will conclude their pre-season preparations against German club Mainz on 15th August.

Bournemouth then begin their Premier League campaign on 23rd August against Manchester City, in what promises to be a challenging opening fixture.
