Manchester United fight back to draw against PSG

Manchester United came from behind to draw their pre-season friendly 1-1 against UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg on Saturday.

The first half of the match was an exciting affair after PSG scored the opener through Ibrahim Mbaye in the second minute, which was equalised by Bryan Mbeumo in the 32nd minute.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia showed his class with a lovely ball around the corner for Dro Fernandez to swing a low cross in from the left.

Fernandez's cross beat the sliding Ayden Heaven, and 18-year-old striker Mbaye buried the chance at the far post.

United responded brilliantly when Cameroon's Mbeumo scored a stunner.

A goal made in West Africa, as Ivorian international Amad Diallo won the ball and carried it bravely before finding Mbeumo to the left of the box.

Mbeumo set himself with one touch, then fired a shot across the keeper into the far corner.

Michael Carrick’s side have now won two, lost one and drawn one in pre-season so far, including a 2-1 comeback win over Atletico Madrid in Stockholm last time out.

In the second half of the match, both teams failed to score. United had chances to convert, but they could not capitalise on them.

United registered 14 attempts, seven of which were on target, while PSG managed just six efforts, with three testing the goalkeeper.

While the possession was dominated by PSG, enjoying 58.7% of it.

They defeated Rosenborg 5-0 and lost 0-1 to Wrexham.

PSG, on the other hand, lost their previous friendly 3-0 to Mallorca.
