India Women will now play a full multi-format series against South Africa Women in December after Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed a revised itinerary on Thursday, adding a three-match T20 International series ahead of the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy.

The additional T20Is have been included to help South Africa prepare for the ICC Women's Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka in February 2027.

Under the original itinerary, India were due to begin the tour with a three-match ODI series from December 9, followed by a one-off Test at St George's Park in Gqeberha on December 20.

However, the revised schedule will see the tour begin with the one-off Test at St George's Park from December 9 to 12, before the teams move into the white-ball leg.

The three-match ODI series will be played at Boland Park in Paarl, Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town and Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on December 16, 19 and 22 respectively.

The tour will conclude with a three-match T20I series, beginning with the Boxing Day fixture at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on December 26. The remaining two matches will be played on consecutive days, December 29 and 30, at NWC Oval in Potchefstroom.

CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki welcomed the revised programme, saying the additional T20Is would provide valuable preparation ahead of the upcoming global tournament.

"We are delighted to confirm the revised schedule for India's tour of South Africa, with the addition of the T20 International series over the festive period, ensuring our Proteas Women have the best possible preparation ahead of the inaugural ICC Women's Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka early next year," Moseki said.

"India remain one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and the opportunity to compete against them across all three formats will provide invaluable competition as we continue building towards another major ICC event," he added.

Earlier this year, India toured South Africa for a five-match T20I series in April, suffering a 4-1 defeat.

The two sides also met at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Manchester, where South Africa secured another victory over India, who were eliminated in the group stage. South Africa progressed to the semi-finals before losing to eventual runners-up England.
