KARACHI: Pakistan's right-arm pacer Naseem Shah was among the five overseas players signed by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for this year's Caribbean Premier League (CPL), scheduled to run from August 7 to September 20.
The 23-year-old pacer, who has represented Pakistan in 37 T20Is, will turn up for the Patriots for the third time, having previously represented the franchise in the 2021 and 2025 editions of the CPL.
In his 11 appearances for the Patriots, Shah picked up 17 wickets at a decent average of 28.00 and an economy rate of 8.04.
Shah was accompanied by Sri Lanka's duo of Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga, Afghanistan's Waqar Salamkheil and Australia's Nikhil Chaudhary, in the Patriots' overseas recruits as the franchise further bolsters their squad for the 14th edition of the league.
The recently unveiled overseas signings will join the likes of Jason Holder, Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers in the Patriots, which shaped up following the players draft in May this year.
It is pertinent to mention that the Patriots, who finished in the previous edition, will start their CPL 2026 campaign on August 8 when they lock horns with defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Arnos Vale.
