Pakistan captain Fatima Sana hopeful to 'rectify mistakes' in Sri Lanka ODIs
Fatima wants teammates to play with attacking and fearless approach as per demands of modern-day cricket
HAMBANTOTA: Pakistan captain Fatima Sana on Wednesday expressed her determination to rectify their recent shortcomings in the three-match away ODI series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to be played in Hambantota from July 23 to 28.
Fatima, who will lead Pakistan only in the ODI series during their white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, shared that the Green Shirts were "hopeful" to fare well in the upcoming assignment and also to rectify their previous mistakes as they are committed to building on their recent spirited performances at home against Zimbabwe and away in South Africa.
"We are hopeful to do well here and looking forward to rectifying our mistakes and build on our performance from the previous two ODI series against South Africa away and Zimbabwe at home," Sana told Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Digital.
"The goal is to try and build a good ODI unit for Pakistan with effective usage of the talent of young players as well as the experienced ones," she added.
The 24-year-old bowling all-rounder also revealed that her message to the players has been to play attacking and fearless cricket as per the demands of modern-day cricket.

"Keeping the local Sri Lankan conditions in mind here in Hambantota, we will look to fight to the end, handle pressure situations well across the length of an ODI game and will look to remain positive."
It is pertinent to mention that the ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will get underway on July 23 with the first ODI scheduled to be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota, which will also host the remaining two fixtures of the series on July 25 and 28, respectively.
