Saim Ayub among Jamaica Kingsmen's overseas signings for CPL 2026

KARACHI: Pakistan's left-handed opener Saim Ayub was named among seven overseas signings by the Jamaica Kingsmen for this year's Caribbean Premier League (CPL), scheduled to run from August 7 to September 20.

Ayub, who has represented Pakistan in 67 T20Is thus far, was accompanied by his compatriots Usman Khan, Hunain Shah and Maaz Sadaqat and teammates – Hassan Khan and Shayan Jahangir – from Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen, which finished as the runners-up in this year's extravaganza.

Jamaica Kingsmen's overseas signings further include Pakistan's 19-year-old batter Tayyab Arif, who was also a part of the Hyderabad franchise at the PSL 2026.

The recently unveiled overseas signings will join the likes of Andre Russell in the Jamaica squad, which the new franchise finalised after being handed an opportunity to recruit top local players unchallenged in the draft.

Notably, the Jamaica-based franchise will be making its return to the CPL following a two-year hiatus after being acquired by Kingsmen Sports Enterprise, owned by Fawad Sarwar.

Upon their return to the CPL, the Kingsmen will start their campaign in the curtain-raiser against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown on August 7.
