Danni Wyatt-Hodge named ICC Women's Player of the Month for June 2026

DUBAI: Right-handed England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge on Monday was adjudged the winner of the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for June 2026.

Wyatt-Hodge beat out stiff competition from Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce and India spinner Sree Charani to clinch the coveted honour for the second time in her international career, adding to previous successes in November 2024.

The 35-year-old England opener earned the honour for her consistent performances at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, finishing as the leading run-scorer with 302 in just seven innings at a remarkable average of 60.40 with the help of one century and two fifties.

In the month of June, however, Wyatt-Hodge accumulated 287 runs in six games, five of which came at the Women's T20 World Cup, at an outstanding average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85.

Her standout performance during the previous month came in the curtain-raiser of the 12-team tournament against Sri Lanka as she scored an unbeaten 105 to help hosts England post the joint-highest score, 219/1, at the Women's T20 World Cup.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge expressed profound delight at winning the Player of the Month award, especially for her individual performances at a World Cup on home soil, adding that she would forever cherish the opportunity of playing in the mega event's final at Lord's.

"I'm delighted to win the ICC Player of the Month award, especially since it came for performances at a World Cup on home soil," Wyatt-Hodge stated.
