MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday confirmed bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey as injured Washington Sundar's replacement for the third and final ODI of the away series against England, scheduled to be played at Lord's on Sunday.

Sundar, who has represented India in 18 Tests, 34 ODIs and 62 T20Is, sustained a right hamstring injury while running his first run during the second fixture of their ongoing series against England in Cardiff on Thursday.

He required treatment on his thigh during the innings and did not return to the field for England's chase after being dismissed.

India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, following the conclusion of the second ODI, provided an initial update on Sundar's hamstring injury, which he shared "looked bad".

"Washington's injury which he had when he ran his first run to mid-off. His hamstring, I think, it looks like a bad injury, and next ball he got out," Kotak had said.

Meanwhile, as per the latest development, the BCCI, earlier today, confirmed that the 26-year-old will miss the series decider against England due to the hamstring injury, for which he would undergo scans and seek specialist's opinion.

"Washington sustained a right hamstring injury during the second ODI at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and has been ruled out of the remainder of the series. He will undergo scans and seek a specialist opinion for further management of his injury," the BCCI said in a statement.

Consequently, India's men's selection committee has brought in 23-year-old bowling all-rounder Dubey to their squad for the series decider.

"The Men's Selection Committee has named Harsh Dubey as Washington Sundar's replacement for the third and final ODI against England at Lord's," the BCCI stated.

For the unversed, Dubey, who made his ODI debut for India last month during their home series against Afghanistan, has two made two appearances in the longer format and picked up four wickets but did not get to bat.

India's updated squad for the third ODI: Shubman Gill (c), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (Vice-Captain), KL Rahul (WK), Ishan Kishan (WK), Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Gurnoor Brar, Prince Yadav and Harsh Dubey.
