Anthony Joshua picks his favourite active fighters ahead of ring return

Anthony Joshua has revealed the fighters he most enjoys watching, highlighting a mix of established world-class names and emerging British talent as he prepares for his return to the ring later this month.

Joshua has frequently spoken about his passion for studying boxing, keeping a close eye on fighters across every weight division to develop his own approach inside the ring.

With his comeback drawing closer, the former heavyweight champion has now shared the boxers who have caught his attention the most.

Speaking about the current landscape Joshua named establish and emerging British talent.

“Globally you’ve got Shakur Stevenson. I like watching Benavidez…You’ve got Moses Itauma coming up, somebody they are saying is going to be an heir to the throne,” Joshua said.

“Who else is there, Conah Walker, trained with Dave Allen. Unbelievable. Pat Brown, I haven’t actually watched that much but I heard he’s a problem, so I’m going to do some research on him. But Conah Walker is probably my favourite fighter in the UK, and Nick Ball.”

Joshua’s selections include unbeaten American star Shakur Stevenson and hard-hitting David Benavidez, while also recognising the rapid rise of heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma, who many believe could become one of the sport’s future leading figures.

Among the British names, Joshua reserved special praise for Conah Walker, describing him as his favourite domestic fighter, while also giving recognition to Nick Ball and highly rated prospect Pat Brown.

Of the fighters Joshua mentioned, Nick Ball is the only one to have already claimed a world title, having previously held the WBA featherweight crown before suffering a knockout defeat to Brandon Figueroa earlier this year.
