Jude Bellingham stars as England beat Norway to reach FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals

Jude Bellingham starred with a brace as England came from a goal down to beat Norway 2-1 at Miami Stadium in Florida on Saturday and reach the FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-finals.

England, 60 years removed from their only World Cup title, made it to the semifinal for the fourth time in their history and their second in the past three tournaments. They'll face Argentina or Switzerland on Wednesday in Atlanta.

Bellingham scored his second brace in a row for England after helping them beat Mexico in the last 16 match with a similar performance.

The Real Madrid man put England ahead in the third minute of extra time. Morgan Rogers fired off a shot and Orjan Nyland spilt it for Bellingham to slide in to give England the lead for the first time in the quarter-final.

The Three Lions midfielder's second goal proved enough to secure victory.

Andreas Schjelderup opened the scoring for Norway in the 36th minute of the match. The ball came out wide to Schjelderup and it looked like he was surely going to cross the ball for Erling Haaland but instead it flew into the top corner.

Jude Bellingham equalled the scoring for England in the stoppage time of the first half.

The move started when Anthony Gordon’s cross found Bellingham in the box, and the midfielder was into shooting position with one touch, and he fired home.

Orjan Nyland made six saves for the Vikings, who were appearing in their first World Cup quarterfinal game, while Jordan Pickford made three saves for England.
