Fatima Sana to miss Sri Lanka T20Is for The Hundred 2026

LAHORE: Pakistan women's captain Fatima Sana will be available for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka before leaving for England to participate in The Hundred 2026, sources told Geo News on Tuesday.

According to sources, the all-rounder will not feature in Pakistan's three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka as she is set to join Birmingham Phoenix after the conclusion of the ODI leg of the tour.

Fatima recently became the first Pakistan woman cricketer to secure a contract in the women's edition of The Hundred after Phoenix signed her in the wildcard draft during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

Fatima filled Birmingham Phoenix's fourth overseas slot after Lucy Hamilton's withdrawal by Cricket Australia to manage her workload and will earn the tournament's minimum salary of £15,000 (approximately PKR 5.6 million).

The Hundred will be held from 21 July to 16 August, with this year's edition marking the first season since private investors assumed partial or full control of the franchises following the sale of team stakes last year

Meanwhile, Pakistan Women are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka later this month for three ODIs and three T20Is, with the ODI series on 23, 25 and 28 July forming part of the ICC Women's Championship.

Fatima is expected to feature in all three ODIs before departing for England, meaning she will miss the T20I series scheduled for 31 July, 2 August and 4 August.

For the unversed, Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka follows a disappointing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where the Girls in Green were eliminated in the group stage after winning just one of their five matches.

Pakistan suffered defeats to India, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia, with their only victory coming against the Netherlands in their final match of the tournament.
