Dana White offers support to Floyd Mayweather

Dana White has revealed he is willing to help Floyd Mayweather if the unbeaten boxing legend reaches out amid growing concerns over his reported financial and legal troubles.

The UFC president and Mayweather have shared a close friendship for years, most notably working together to stage the blockbuster crossover bout between Mayweather and Conor McGregor in 2017.

Despite pursuing separate ventures since then, the pair have remained in regular contact.

Mayweather had been scheduled to face kickboxing icon Mike Zambidis in Athens on 27th June as part of a planned three-fight tour.

The exhibition was expected to lead into a professional boxing comeback, with potential bouts against Mike Tyson and long-time rival Manny Pacquiao also being discussed.

However, attention has shifted away from the ring after widespread reports suggested the former five-weight world champion is dealing with a number of financial and legal issues.

The fighter, who built his image around his extravagant ‘Money’ persona, is reportedly facing court proceedings linked to his finances.

Speaking after Saturday's Zuffa Boxing event in Las Vegas, White admitted he has spoken privately with Mayweather but insisted he does not yet know the full details of the situation.

“Yeah that’s a tough one,” White said when asked about Mayweather.

“I’ve talked to him about it but I don’t know enough about it. You hear all these different stories and I think you have to wait to see how this thing is going to play out in court for him.

“But when somebody works as hard as he did and amasses the type of wealth that he had and then they lose it, or it gets stolen or whatever the deal is it’s horrible and it happens a lot in professional sports. So who knows? Anything is possible and maybe we could do something to figure it out for him.”
