FIFA World Cup 2026: Group F points table after Sweden win

MONTERREY: Group F points table of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 have been updated after Sweden registered victory over victory over Tunisia here at Monterrey Stadium on Sunday.

Sweden made an impressive start to their World Cup campaign with a dominant 5–1 win over Tunisia. Yasin Ayari, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres were among the scorers in a confident team display.

Sweden controlled possession for much of the match and registered more shots on target. Ayari opened the scoring in the seventh minute after Isak’s effort was saved and the rebound fell kindly to Gyokeres.

In the second Group F match at Dallas Stadium, Japan fought back twice to secure a 2–2 draw with the Netherlands.

Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring for the Dutch in the 51st minute. Japan equalised six minutes later through Keito Nakamura, set up by Takefusa Kubo after a neat move on the left.

The Netherlands restored their lead in the 64th minute when Crysencio Summerville cut inside and fired a low left-footed strike. Japan levelled again in the 88th minute from a corner, as Koki Ogawa's header, deflected off Daichi Kamada, found the net to share the points overall.

According to the updated points table, Sweden top the group with one win, 5 GF (Goals For), a +4 GD (Goal Difference), and 3 points. 

Japan are second with one draw, 2 GF, 2 GD and 1 point. Netherlands are third with one draw, 2 GF, 2 GD, and 1 point. Tunisia are fourth with a goal difference (GD) of -4.
