KARACHI: Defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors have confirmed their squad for the third edition of the Global Super League (GSL), which is scheduled to take place in Guyana from 23 July to 1 August.

Veteran South African spinner Imran Tahir will lead the side as they look to retain their title. The squad features several international stars, including Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, Pakistan's young wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris and New Zealand's Glenn Phillips.

Haris is the only Pakistani player named in the Warriors squad for the tournament.

The line-up also includes a strong West Indies contingent, featuring prominent names such as Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie and Johnson Charles.

It is pertinent to mention that the tournament will feature four other teams alongside the Warriors, including Pakistan's Lahore Qalandars. The remaining participants are Australia's Perth Scorchers, the UAE's Desert Vipers and the USA's San Francisco Unicorns.

The inaugural edition of the competition was won by the Rangpur Riders in 2024 after they defeated Victoria by 56 runs in the final. Guyana Amazon Warriors then claimed the title in 2025, beating the Riders by 32 runs in the championship match.

Lahore Qalandars will begin their campaign against Perth Scorchers on 23 July before facing Desert Vipers a day later. They will then take on Guyana Amazon Warriors on 26 July and San Francisco Unicorns on 29 July.

The team finishing at the top of the standings will qualify directly for the final, while the second and third-placed sides will meet in a qualifier on 31 July. The final will be played on 1 August.
