Tyson Fury has revealed his comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov, weeks after announcing his return to boxing.
Former world heavyweight champion Fury, on January 04, announced his return to boxing, saying 2026 is his comeback year.
'The Gypsy King' is busy training in Thailand these days in a bid to get fight-ready. He recently said that he is preparing for a battle and war in 2026.
On Wednesday, Saudi Arabian boxing chief Turki Alalshikh took to social media to make the announcement, stating that Fury ends his retirement to face Makhmudov.
“Tyson Fury ends his retirement to face heavy-hitter Arslanbek Makhmudov in The Ring’s blockbuster showdown on April 11th, live on Netflix 📺 #TheRing,” Alalshikh wrote in an Instagram post.
Tyson Fury also shared the announcement on his Instagram account, saying it’s official, I am back.
“Well it’s official im back doing what i ❤️ to do. Iv brought the biggest network along with me @netflix @netflixuk this is going to be astronomical. Blessed by God,” Fury wrote.
Makhmudov, a Russian based in Canada, strengthened his credentials by defeating Britain's Dave Allen in his most recent bout.
"I am thrilled about the opportunity," Makhmudov said. "I'm coming to deliver a war. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W."
The Briton is chasing a blockbuster showdown in the summer, before which he wanted a tune-up fight before the end of April, and he got one in the shape of Makhmudov.
Fury announced his retirement after his second fight against Oleksandr Usyk, who is the only fighter to defeat ‘The Gypsy King’ in his professional career in back-to-back fights in 2024.
Usyk has recently said that he is open for trilogy against Fury, but only if the fight is for the undisputed status again.
"Why not," he told Ready To Fight when asked if he would fight Fury again.
"But only if it’s a fight for the undisputed status again."
