WBO champion Fabio Wardley has explained why he is the only one who can be the first boxer to beat three-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Wardley, who became the world champion after Usyk vacated the WBO belt, is full of confidence and is chasing big fights this year.

Wardley recently called out his fellow Briton, former world champion Tyson Fury and also eyes a blockbuster showdown against Usyk as well.

Usyk, who is nearing his 40s, was chasing a fight against Deontay Wilder; however, the American has now chosen Derek Chisora as his next opponent.

The Ukrainian still has the WBC, WBA and IBF titles with him, and is looking for only big fights ahead of retirement.

However, Fabio Wardley is still hoping for a fight against Usyk, and he explained how he is the only man who can beat the world champion.

“I think I just offer something a bit different. I think I offer something unconventional. It’s hard to say with someone like Oleksandr Usyk, that I can offer something he hasn’t seen. There is a rhythm to boxing, a way of doing things that is to-and-fro, almost like a dance of steps and how things should be,” Wardley said.

“Then a character like me, someone who comes in such an unorthodox way from an unorthodox background, kind of throws a spanner in the works and throws it off that rhythm. I think that’s what I have a good chance of doing. Along with a strong heavy right hand as well, and good stamina. One way or another, Usyk will know he’s been in the fight.”
