Sri Lanka on Tuesday announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, starting on January 22 at the RPICS Stadium in Colombo.

Charith Asalanka will continue to lead the side in the white-ball format, with the team largely retaining a core group from their previous ODI series.

Fourteen players from Sri Lanka's last ODI series against Pakistan have kept their spots, reflecting the management's desire for continuity despite the 3-0 series defeat.

The squad also features a few notable additions, including Dhananjaya de Silva, Dunith Wellalage, and Milan Rathnayake, aimed at strengthening the team's experience.

Sri Lanka's batting line-up boasts Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kamil Mishara, and Sadeera Samarawickrama, with Kamindu Mendis and Janith Liyanage providing depth in the middle order.

The bowling department offers a balanced mix of pace and spin, led by Asitha Fernando, Pramod Madushan, and Eshan Malinga, alongside spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay and Wellalage’s left-arm spin.

With the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 on the horizon, Sri Lanka will aim to bounce back strongly on home soil.

The ODI series will be followed by a five-match T20I series, scheduled just days before the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
