Chael Sonnen has claimed that seven title fights at the UFC White House card would not work.

The UFC White House event is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2026, marking the 80th birthday of US President Donald Trump and also part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Speaking with The Schmo Sonnen said that everyone is talking about seven title fights, but he hopes it does not materialise.

“Everyone’s talking about there’s going to be seven title fights, which, by the way, I hope that there’s not,” Sonnen said.

“It’s a little much. Just as a fan, I’ve been to events. There’s one that Scott Coker put on but there were three title fights…they all went the distance. It was too much. It was 75 minutes of seeing three guys, it was too much. I think it’s a big mistake.”

He was asked about Conor McGregor's return at the White House by The Schmo, to which Sonnen said that the Irishman can get any fight he wants and ‘The Notorious’ is also serious about his comeback, but nothing is yet confirmed.

“We’ve got some huge fights out there. The Conor one we are discussing, the big rumor of Pereira vs. Jones but those fights have one thing in common, there’s no belt. We don’t have to do a belt and we damn sure don’t have to do seven,” he added.

US President Trump had earlier claimed that eight or nine title fights would take place on his birthday, and Dana White had been holding fights back for the White House event.
