SYLHET: Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed's economical bowling figures of 3/19, followed by Parvez Hossain Emon's unbeaten half-century, led Sylhet Titans to a resounding six-wicket victory over Rangpur Riders in the 23rd match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 here at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Titans captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz's decision to field first proved beneficial as his team's bowling unit booked the Riders for a meagre 114 in 19.1 overs.

Pakistan international Khushdil Shah remained the top-scorer for the visitors with a 24-ball 30 in the middle, followed by Bangladesh veteran Mahmudullah, who made 29 off 23 deliveries with the help of four boundaries.

For the Titans, Shohidul Islam and Nasum bagged three wickets, with the latter being more economical as he gave away just 19 runs in his four overs, while the seamer went for 36. They were significantly supported by Moeen Ali, who made two scalps, while Salman Irshad chipped in with one.

For his economical bowling performance, Nasum was adjudged the Player of the Match.

In response, the Titans made light work of the 115-run target as they chased it down for the loss of four wickets and 15 balls to spare.

Leading the way for the home side in the pursuit was opening batter Emon, who top-scored with an unbeaten 52 off 41 deliveries, studded with three sixes and as many fours.

He was also involved in a platform-setting 54-run opening partnership with Tawfique Khan, who made a blistering 33 off 22 deliveries, featuring four sixes and a four.

For the Riders, Nahid Rana claimed two wickets, while Nayeem Hasan and Sufiyan Muqeem could bag one apiece.

The six-wicket victory consolidated Sylhet Titans' third position in the BPL 2025-26 standings with 10 points in nine matches, while Rangpur Riders remained fourth with eight points in a game less.
