Netherlands announce squad for T20 World Cup 2026

AMSTELVEEN: The Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) on Monday announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, slated to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Wicketkeeper batter Scott Edwards will continue to lead the European side, which features several other experienced players, with the majority of them having already featured in one or more T20 World Cups.

The Dutch will start their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against 2009 champions, Pakistan, in the curtain raiser of the 20-team tournament, scheduled to be played in Colombo on February 7, before taking on Namibia and the United States of America on February 10 and 13, respectively.

Their final group-stage match is scheduled against co-host and defending champions India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 18.

Netherlands' selector Ryan Cook expressed confidence in the selected players to advance into the next stage of the mega event, citing their experience in the Asian conditions.

"With experience in the past few World Cups, having played against all of the teams in our group recently and having exposure to the conditions in Sri Lanka and India, we are confident in our preparations over the past few months," said Ryan Cook.

"Players and staff have been working hard and making many sacrifices to put the team in a great position to succeed in the tournament.

"Our squad has depth and variety in options which we feel will be effective against the opposition and in these conditions as well experience which will be important as we look to advance through the group stages."
