KARACHI: Cricket in Sialkot has always been about passion, pride and performance, and now the city is back on Pakistan's biggest T20 stage.
With the upcoming 11th edition, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expanding to eight teams in 2026, Sialkot has officially secured a franchise, thanks to OZ Developers and owner Mr. Hamza Majeed, who won the team at a star-studded auction with a record Rs1.85 billion bid.
While the new team is simply known as Sialkot, fans are already calling for a revival of one of Pakistan cricket's most beloved names: Sialkot Stallions.
The Stallions were more than just a domestic team — they were a phenomenon.
Between 2005 and 2012, Sialkot Stallions won six National T20 Cup titles, including a world-record 25-match unbeaten streak and became the most successful team in Pakistan's domestic T20 history.
The team featured legends who defined an era: Shoaib Malik, the calm and clever captain; Imran Nazir, the explosive opener who thrilled crowds with every innings; Haris Sohail, the dependable all-rounder; and Shakeel Ansar, the versatile wicketkeeper-batsman.
On the bowling front, Mohammad Asif, Abdur Rehman, Bilawal Bhatti and Hasan Ali formed a lethal combination that made the Stallions almost unbeatable.
The Stallions' legacy isn't just in records — it's in the hearts of fans. For years, Sialkot cricket supporters have chanted “Stallions forever!,” keeping the team's spirit alive online and in stadiums.
Now, with a fresh PSL franchise in their city, that same excitement is being poured into the new team.
Fans are hopeful that naming the PSL team Sialkot Stallions would honour the city's cricketing heritage and instantly connect with a passionate fanbase eager to relive those golden T20 moments.
Sialkot's return to the PSL isn't just about a new team; it's about rekindling a legacy.
The roar of the Stallions — or whatever name the new franchise adopts — promises thrilling cricket, fanfar and a deep sense of pride for a city that has always lived and breathed cricket.
As preparations begin and squads take shape, one thing is certain: fans want the Stallions' spirit alive and Pakistan cricket is ready to witness a new chapter in Sialkot's T20 story.
