Anthony Joshua has paid a heartfelt tribute to his friends Latif 'Latz' Ayodele and Sina Ghami, who he lost in a car crash in Nigeria in December.
Joshua was discharged from the hospital on New Year's Eve after sustaining minor injuries in the car accident.
‘AJ’ flew back to the UK from Nigeria and recently attended the funeral of his friends, at the London Central Mosque, who were also his team members.
Latif Ayodele was Joshua’s personal trainer, and Ghami was his strength and conditioning coach.
Joshua, on Thursday, posted a message for his late friends, saying he didn’t realise how special they were, and admitted that without them, it would be tough for him.
''Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers," Joshua posted on Instagram.
"I didn't even realise how special they are. I'll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.
"100% it's tough for me, but I know it's even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.''
