DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced the nominees for the Men's Player of the Month for December 2025, featuring West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves, New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy and Australia's left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.
Greaves enjoyed a remarkable month in New Zealand, scoring 283 runs at an average of 56.60 across three Tests.
His standout performance came in the first Test at Christchurch, where he played a match-saving unbeaten 202 in the fourth innings, helping his team secure a draw.
Greaves also contributed with the ball, taking five wickets at crucial moments for the West Indies.
Duffy was the leading wicket-taker in New Zealand's home Test series against the West Indies, claiming 23 wickets at an astonishing average of 15.43 across three matches.
He played a pivotal role in the Black Caps' 2-0 series victory, consistently troubling opposition batters with swing and accuracy.
His performances earned him the Player of the Series award and helped him become the highest-wicket taker in a calendar year for New Zealand across formats, with 81 wickets, surpassing Richard Hadlee's record of 79 set in 1985.
Starc was instrumental in Australia's Ashes campaign in December, taking 16 wickets and scoring 139 runs across three Tests.
He was named Player of the Match in the second Ashes Test, contributing 77 runs and eight wickets, including figures of 6/75 in the first innings, to secure Australia's victory.
Starc also made crucial contributions with both bat and ball in the Ashes-clinching third Test in Adelaide, scoring 54 runs and taking four wickets to help Australia reclaim the Ashes urn.
