WWE superstars, including Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and CM Punk, came together on Thursday to honour the legendary John Cena as he prepares for the final match of his illustrious career.
Cena, a 17-time World Champion and one of WWE’s most iconic figures, is set to wrestle for the last time on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
He will face Gunther, who secured the spot after defeating LA Knight in the Last Time is Now Tournament final.
Ahead of his retirement, WWE released a poignant tribute video through its digital platforms.
Silent and devoid of dialogue, the video celebrates Cena through gestures and mannerisms, synonymous with him, from his iconic "You Can’t See Me" taunt to salutes and handwritten messages.
Stars featured in the tribute included Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Liv Morgan, The Miz, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and many others.
The video also featured WWE's veteran cameraman, Stew, while WWE executives Triple H, his wife Stephanie McMahon and others also paid tribute, highlighting Cena's influence as a performer, locker-room leader and global ambassador.
The tribute marks the culmination of Cena's year-long farewell tour, celebrating more than two decades of his career in professional wrestling.
The event will also feature WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes up against NXT Champion Oba Femi, besides Bayley locking horns with Sol Ruca, while AJ Styles & Dragon Lee take on Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater.
